Examinations

In order to take an NCEES examination, you must first receive approval from the State Board. To obtain approval, submit an application for the appropriate examination on the Board approved application forms.

If you have previously obtained approval from the State Board, you do not have submit another application.  Go directly to the NCEES web page using the link below.

Once you have been approved by the State Board, you must register to take the examination. The State Board contracts with NCEES to administer all NCEES exams. To register for an exam go to www.ncees.org and follow the links and instructions provided. Carefully read and review the registration and cancellation policies.

It is your responsibility to visit the NCEES and obtain the examination information you will need. If you encounter difficulties in the registration process or have questions, please contact us.

The exam application deadlines are:

  • January 1 for the spring examinations
  • July 1 for the fall examinations
